Twinkies!

So... I've been super busy lately so I'm sorry I haven't updated in a while. I'm walking again YAY!!! I'm doing much better everyday! It really only hurts when it's raining. I started walking 2 miles in the morning with Loni before work and that seems to be helping a lot. Other than that... MY SISTER HAD THE TWINS!!!! YAY!!!! They are both well and absolutely beautiful and perfect! I got to go down there last week for the blessings. Andy blessed them and he did a beautiful job.
Dad and uncle Neil were able to assist in both of the blessings. It was a wonderful experience. Emery was able to come down there with us and play with Adrian, so that was a ton of fun for her. Jen Fletcher and her daughter Lorelei drove down with us to! Then on Sunday we drove up to Auntie Karen's house and stayed the night, so I was able to play Rock Band with Amy and Jen all night! It was such a blast and I'm so glad Amy was able to come play with us. Other than that I've been pretty crazy doing a bunch of nothing!

4 Months Later

I can finally walk again!!!! It's been 4 months too long and I never thought this day would come but YAY!!!! I even went to a playground on Sunday!!! It was so much fun! I did things I didn't think I'd be able to do so soon like climb up a "rock wall" and stuff... it did hurt sometimes but it got much better! I do get to go back to institute this week! I couldn't before because it is on the second floor with no elevator... so I'm pretty stoked about that.
Other than that, there's really nothing going on with life. I started work again with no restrictions, I don't have to do physical theropy, and YW's are keeping me pretty occupied. Other that my life is pretty lame.

Just One Week Left!!! WOOT!!!

Monday I got a call from the doctor and they told me that I would have another 4-6 weeks to wait for surgery because the doctor didn't have the paperwork in on time. I was beside myself, I was ready to do the proceedure myself! It's been 3 1/2 months and I didn't think I could wait until late April early May to be able to walk again.
Yesterday I got another call from the doctor's office, they had a canellation for Wednesday April 1... yes April Fools Day I will be having my surgery and soon I will be back to normal. I can't wait, it's been a long time coming. I can't believe it's almost over, I can't remember doing things without a broken leg lol. My friend Gary keeps teasing me saying that it's a doctor's sick joke and I'm going to get into pre-op and get all prepped for surgery and they're going to yell, "APRIL FOOLS!!!!" I told him, "If they do.... they better pray that what I'm going to do to them doesn't take as long to recover from!'' lol.
I find out in Friday at my pre-op appointment how long the recovery from this surgery will be, it won't be nearly as long as my first surgery, and all the details about physical theropy so I will keep you posted with that.
Thanks for your prayers and good wishes while I've been recovering.

Yet Another Update on My Leg....

So I went to the doctor yesterday expecting him to take off my hard cast and take x-rays and then put another hard cast on... well I got really good news, my leg and ankle have healed enough that I was able to get a boot, which is a cast that I can take on and off. So YAY!!! I can sleep without a cast on and I can shower and shave and stuff... I LOVE IT!!!! Also, I have at least 19 more days with the crutches... I am able to have surgery to get the pin out no earlier than the 23rd of March. The boot they gave me, makes me look like a start trooper from Star Wars lol.
Other than my leg... we just got a huge shipment of sailors in the ward... 9 to be exact. That's more Sailors than we've ever had young adults in the Groton and Waterford ward combined! It's insane!!! The boys actually out number the girls now... it's so fun!!!! We've been hanging out all the time it's great.
Also, I finally got to go back to work for about an hour last week and I'll be going to work on Friday and Monday this week, it keeps me on my toes at least. And I get to see all the regulars that I've missed.
So that's me up to date.... nothing else has been going on really.

Update on my leg....

So I went to the doctor on Tuesday and I thought that they were going to take my cast off for x-rays and I was hoping that I was going to get a walking cast. Well, I went to the doctor on Tuesday and they didn't take the cast off, but they did take x-rays. He said that I was healing faster than he expected but I'm not ready for a walking cast yet. As a matter of fact he gave me a cast shoe, it's pretty much a big sandal with a cradle bottom to go over my cast. I can put a little weight on my heel and kind of shuffle along but I can't put weight on my toes at all. If I do I run the risk on the pin in my ankle going through the bone or backing out, both would be really bad. So I'm in this cast for another month, then they take this cast off for x-rays (for real this time) and then they are going to put me in a fresh cast for another month, at that same visit we are going to schedule the second surgery date to take the pin out. After the pin comes out in April is when I get the walking cast. So I've been pretty bummed, there are Young Single Adult dances and activities coming up that I'm going to miss because of it. And that stinks because these activities coming up are regional activities, the best ones of the year. So I'm hoping that there will be some fun activites this summer to make up for it.
Other than that there's nothing new going on. On Monday, some of my friends came over and we played games and then we went shopping. We went to Khol's and then to Famous Footwear. They gave me a fashion show and I took pictures while I was in the wheelchair. It was so fun! I hadn't laughed that hard before I broke my leg! I had tears rolling down my cheeks! I got texts from all of them saying that we're on for this Monday to! I'm so excited, I needed it so desperately. I am really looking forward to this Monday, it's helping to stay positive and not dwell on my leg. Which I'm really trying not to do because I really could have it a lot worse.
I've started knitting again, I took a couple of weeks off but I back in action, I just finished Natalie's and now I'm working on one for myself. It's hot pink of course! Emery is really jealous of it, it's her favorite color to.
Other than that there's nothing new going on. It's been pretty boring around here.

Nothing Really

So there's nothing really going on with me right now, I'm just chillin' at home waiting for everybody to come home from work and then we play. My leg is healing really well, I don't get much pain anymore unless I accidently put weight on it, but even then it's breif. I'm still hoping that my cast will come off on Feb. 3 and it will stay off. I have such wonderful friends that sop by and visit me all the time and send me things, I just got a really nice blanket from Crate and Barrel from my friend in ME. It was really nice, also I hear every day that my regular customers at work ask about me. That makes me feel so loved. Aside from being cooped up in the house life is really good. I am so blessed.

A Fall For Grace

Hey guys! Sorry I haven't updated in a while... to get you all up to speed I have a story.
On Dec. 12 was Elder Simpson's birthday so the night before we decided we would go put some pictures and cards and stuff on their door so that it was the first thing they saw when they left the morning of his brithday. Well, we started going down the stairs and all of a sudden their door started to open. So, what do we do? We start running.... we get down the first flight and then came the second flight, I got down about 3 of those stairs and got startled because Elder Simpson yelled something ( I can't remember what it was now). I tripped and started going head first down about 8 stairs, I somehow managed to grab the railing which considering the way I was falling was a good thing. I ended up breaking my left fibula and my ankle joint widened in the fall (so basically it broke also). So on Dec. 23 I had surgery on my leg... 1 steal plate and 7 screws later I came home the next day which just so happened to be Chirstmas Eve, and got to have Christmas at home. I went to my 2nd post-op on Tuesday and got my cast... I obviously got..... PINK!!! They also said I would be getting the cast off in 4 weeks, that makes me happy because at first they said 3 months. Here's the thing though, I'm not really sure if they meant 3 months after I broke it or 3 months after my surgery... I'm hoping that I will have it off and be walking again in 4 weeks, there is a YSA Regional Conference on Feb. 20-21 and I would REALLY like to go to that! So pray for me! Thanks...
Other than that there hasn't been much going on, I'm pretty much house bound during the day while everyone is at work and when it snows I'm stuck and we've been getting more snow than normal this year, so my life is pretty quiet and boring right now.
